Navigating Menopause Naturally

Today is World Menopause Day and I thought it might be useful to share some of the things that have helped me on my menopause journey. Early on I made a conscious decision to approach the menopause holistically. I wanted to see what worked for me before considering Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). So far, this natural path has allowed me to tune into my body in ways I never imagined. Here’s how I’m navigating this transition with a blend of tools, therapies, and mindful practices that have become essential parts of my daily life.

1. Prioritising Rest: The Power of a Good Night's Sleep

I realised early on that I needed to focus on improving the quality of my Sleep. Sleep is the cornerstone of wellness, especially during menopause, when hormonal fluctuations can turn restful nights into a rarity. I’ve found solace in "Unstressable" by Mo Gawdat & Alice Law.  I am half way through the book and their approach to stress reduction is practical and empowering, helping me to navigate the extreme emotional ups and downs.

6. Cultivating New Skills: Learning How to Grow Produce

Menopause has also sparked a desire in me to learn new skills, leading me to enrol in Create Academy’s courses.  I have just begun “How to grow exceptional produce" with Jane Scotter. This course is about discovering how to grow your own exceptional produce and become semi-self-sufficient, guided by one of the UK’s most celebrated growers of fruits and vegetables.  I can’t wait to dive in!

7. Finding Comfort in Massage: A Healing Touch

Last but certainly not least, I’ve found immense comfort in regular massages with Emeline at Hibiscus Holistic Massage. Her positive energy and skilled hands have been a source of physical relief and emotional support throughout this journey. It’s also been incredibly rewarding to collaborate with her in creating our massage balms.

Menopause is not a one-size-fits-all experience, and I’m taking the time to find what works for me. By embracing a holistic approach, I’ve discovered tools and practices that not only ease the transition but also enrich my life in unexpected ways.
