Summer 2023

Hello Everyone

Nicas Favourite Things This Month

One of the good habits that I have reignited over the last month or so is my morning walk in the woods.  I have been reading James Clear’s “Atomic Habits” which is brilliant!   He breaks down the process of creating any good habit in to 4 Laws:  make it obvious, make it attractive, make it easy and make it satisfying.  So I lay out my walking “gear” the night before and after school drop off head to a beautiful spot in the hills and then have a delicious breakfast on my return.

If you have a moment take a look at this months H:A Journal where we discuss the subject of Rest as a way of elevating the Summer holidays to new heights. One of our tips is to pack with relaxation in mind.  So I will take my lovely journal, a small crystal, and my multi-coloured bic pen on our holidays this year!

I will also be doing my annual Karen Brody’s “Daring to Rest Yoga Nidra Meditation Program” on audio for 40 days.  The good news is that this is lying-down yoga so all you do is find yourself a comfy spot to rest whilst you listen to Karen’s calming voice.  My experience is that I reach such a deep state of relaxation - at times dropping off to sleep - I feel so energised and calm after only a few days of doing it!

We will be heading off to Ireland for our break. This is where we go to recharge our batteries and find creative inspiration for Healing Alternatives. We are blessed to be surrounded by mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. If you are interested in discovering more about our beach house hideaway and visiting Dingle and its Peninsula we have created a 58 page downloadable guide with all the best places to visit. You can follow us on Instagram under @thebeachhousedingle.

Bumps and bruises, cuts and grazes we have you covered this Summer. Make sure if you have kids to stick some of our First Aid Balm in your bag before you head off.

You can pick this up from the site where we will be running a  summer special deal for readers of my notebook of 15% off until they head back to School in September - Just use the code NICA15 at the checkout.

For any of you who don’t know our First Aid Balm it is a CBD-based balm blended with Sea Buckthorn, Pomegranate, Tea Tree and Lavender oils. CBD is for reducing inflammation and helping the skin to heal. Sea Buckthorn hydrates the skin and promotes the formation of collagen. Pomegranate is full of antimicrobials and antioxidants, while Tea Tree oil is known the world over for its antiseptic properties and Lavender soothes and calms irritated skin.

I almost forgot for any tennis fans out there make sure you checkout Netflix’s new series “Break Point” - perfect to watch with Wimbledon starting.

Have an amazing Summer and I look forward to catching up with you all after our break.
